Since china entered the WTO, the value of foreign trade has increased rapidly and the new trading status is rising. In 2005, the value of imports and exports reached 1422.12 billion U.S. dollars in china, equivalent to 2.8 times in 2001. There into, the value of exports is 762 billion U.S. dollars, increased 28.4%, and the value of imports is 660.012 billion U.S. dollars, increased 17.6%. According to the statistic of Chinese custom, in 2005, the value of imports and exports of general trade is 594.81 billion U.S. dollars, increased 21%; the value of imports and exports of processing trade is 690.51 billion U.S. dollars, increased 25.3%. Since 2002, China's foreign trade has kept 21% growth and gained the global third place in 2005.Along with economic globalization and trade liberalization to upgrade, traditional barriers to trade for example tariffs and quotas and licensing and other traditional trade barriers are weakening gradually, but the green trade barriers in trade protectionism is popular, and has become the trend. Meanwhile, developed countries for example the United States and Japan and EU which resort superiority in science and technology and environment, set up green trade barriers such as environmental regulations and standard of safety and sanitation and green certification mark, which is extremely strict to enter into the market. Western developed countries in order to protect their domestic industries apparently, in the name of environmental protectionism, build a legal umbrella by green trade barriers. These non-tariff barriers to trade develop rapidly, and which is one of the main obstacles and impede the development of international trade. Green trade barriers impede China's foreign trade, especially our textiles and clothing industry.
