A Research On The Influence Of FDI On Chinese Industrial Structure

In recent years, with the sustained growth of economy in china and the acceleration of economic globalization progress, FDI obtains the quick development and has become an important component part of economy in China, and its position and function become increasingly important. The process of economic development is, in a sense, that of adjustment and upgrade of industrial structure. As a result, the influence of FDI upon the economic development in China is, to a great extent, decided by the relation between FDI and Chinese industrial structure. The strategy of using FDI should be changed for being centered around industrial structure adjustment, putting efforts to extend the realm, optimizing the industrial structure, and enhancing the quantity in using FDI.Since the reform and opening, China has all the way focused upon the adjustment and upgrade of industrial structure in the adjustment of national economy. The industrial structure has improved a lot, but there are still some problems, which, if not be valued, will produce the disadvantageous influence on the development in China in the long run. Especially, FDI accounts for a very big share in the whole Chinese investment system and it will impose a big influence upon the improvement of Chinese industrial structure. So studying the influence of FDI upon Chinese industrial structure has become an important topic.This thesis, starting from the review of FDI and the change of industrial structure theories, analyzes the influential factors of industrial structure change. It also analyzes, in the basis of the substantial evidences, the influence of FDI upon Chinese industrial structure by means of exploring the industrial distribution of FDI and the change of Chinese industrial structure, and arrives at a conclusion that FDI is the important factor in making an influence on the industrial structure change, the contribution degree which FDI contributed to the second industry biggest, but the investment strength of the second industry bigger to its increment value contribution to GDP. So we should reduce FDI devotion in the second industry and enlarge the investment strength of the first and third industry. We should, according to the direction of the industrial structure adjustment in "the 11th five-year plan" period, strengthen the industry direction in which multinational companies invest directly.
