Because of the advance of the society and the development of science and technology, the times of scarcity has gone and the center of the society' s economic structure has transferred from production to consumption and the times have approached to a consumption society. "If there is no demand, there will be no production, and consumption will reproduce demand."The demand of consumption determines production. " So, all economic activities are stem from consumption, consumption is the springboard and end-result of all economic activities. With the improvement of standard of living and the augmentation of pressure of work, people' s consciousness of health tones up gradually, and it becomes a fashionable consumption for people to buy health with money. The citizens in cities are the main force of the second and the third industry, and they are"towers of strength" for the development of society, so, the improvement of their health status will benefit their contribution to the society. The research on the question of sports consumption of residents who live in the communities of cities is favorable to ensure their healthy consumption behaviors and notions, and at the same time, it can provide a good opportunity for the development of sports industry in city communities.Sports consumption indicates the economic behavior that people get the benifit of sports with currency. It is the i-mpetus for the presence and development of sports industry. In view of the actuality of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Economic Sphere' s economic development situation as well as the local consumption situation, the author applied the methods of literature data, investigation, statistics and logic of analysis, Using the researches on the citizens' sports consumption in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Economic Sphere, and drawn following conclusion:First, there is a certain increase in the number of people who take part in sports, but the ratio of sportspopulation is relatively low;Second, the inhabitants who p-articipate in sports mainly choose the locations free of charge;Third, the sports consumption level of the inhabitants in the overall is relatively low;Fourth, the labor-type sports consumption of the residents grows to a certain degree, but the material-type sports consumption still takes the main role, so the consumption structure is irrational;Fifth, the residents are motivated to improve health and physical fitness-sports consumption, and takes a multiple tendency;Sixth, the macro factors have affected the sports consumption of the residents, as well as the micro factors;Seventh, the potentials of the resident' s ports consumption are huge.This paper is for the purposes to understand the characteristics of the citizens' sports consumption in the Chang-sha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Economic Sphere, to find out the latent market demand of it, to forecast the development prospect of it, to discover the questions exist in it, to find out the a~ ppropriate solutions, and to provide the beneficial reference for development and reform of the sports industry in the city communities of various economical regions.
