Established in 1988, Huawei Technologies is now the largest Chinese supplier oftelecommunication system, which specializes in R&D, production and marketing ofcommunications equipment, and providing customized network solutions for telecomcarriers in different areas. Huawei had been involved in international marketing since1996. In 1999, Huawei made a substantial breakthrough in overseas market and gotUS$50 million of contract value. Since then, Huawei almost doubled its annualoverseas sales each and ever year. In 2004, Huawei's overseas sales reached US$2.28billion.This article gives a full review of the course of Huawei's internationalmarketing in the past 8 years, analyzes the reason why Huawei's overseas marketinggot such a high speed expansion, summarizes the factors leading Huawei to success.The article tries to provide some basic rules and practice to other Chinese high-techcompanies for their reference when stepping outside.
