Generally, a construction enterprise operates multiple projects concurrently. Atpresent, there are no ERP products that match construction industry. This dissertationstudies four concerned crucial problems of Construction ERP.1. The dissertation takes the Construction ERP Study Methodology as theresearching object. The studying of Construction ERP should consider thetechnological and economical conditions of construction enterprises, make use ofsuccessful experiences of Manufacturing ERP, and adopt advanced thearies such asindustry engineering, system engineering and Dynamic Enterprise Model.2. The comparison of between Construction ERP and Manufacturing ERP ismade. The uniqueness and uncertainty of constructin projects bring on thedifferences between Construction ERP and Manufacturing ERP, and the consistencyin the management mode of the two industries links them together. The primaryConstruction ERP systematic function model is proposed. Just like the closed loopMRP of manufacturing, the resource constraint multi-project scheduling serves asthe mainstay of Construction ERP and other activities should be carried out onschedule surrounding this mainstay.3. The dissertation has also studied the Business Procedure Re-engineering(BPR) in detail. BPR is tied by ERP. The key points of BPR depend on defining theright, responsibility and profit relationships between enterprise layer and projectmanager layer exactly. The principle that the enterprise layer acts as the profit centerand the project manager layer acts as the cost center should be carried out. Theenterprise layer makes up the schedule while the project manager layer takes theresponsibility of the execution and control. The BPR does not breach the projectmanagement model but standardizes it further.4. Furthermore, the dissertation has studied the resources constraintmulti-project scheduling technology. (1)In order to solve the scheduling problemwhen the activity duration is certain, the solution based on Genetic Algorithms isdeveloped to effectively avoid unfeasible individuals. The solution transforms theactivity precedence into a relation matrix to create the initiative population randomlyfrom an executable activity set, adopts an improved two-point crossover algorithmand presents a mutation algorithm based on an adjacency matrix. (2)In order to dealwith the scheduling problem with uncertain activity duration, the estimated durationis decomposed into an optimistic duration and a safe one, and then the Critical ChainMethod (CCM) based on the theory of constraints is introduced. The uncertainty iseliminated through inserting feeding buffers. Additionally, several feeding bufferscomputations are presented. And some misunderstandings of the CCM are pointedout and the further researching direction is brightening up.As a fundamental and original research, the dissertation has prominentsignificance for further studying and implementing Construction ERP in the future.
