With the coming of knowledge economy times and the intensification of market competition, more and more enterprises at home and abroad realize that human resource is the first source of enterprise production and the core competition power for enterprises to obtain competitive edge. How to improve human resource quality in an enterprise? Effective performance management is a key link. Performance management exploits performance result into enterprise' s daily management activities through the establishment of enterprise strategy, goal decomposition and performance appraisal, so as to inspire the continuous improvement of employees' performances and finally realize the organized strategy and goal.SQ company is one of the companies firstly conducting natural gas operation in China gas Industry. It undertook a variety of missions such as natural gas transmission and distribution, utilization,management, engineering, planning, design, installation, the development of gas technology, the inspection of natural gas special equipements as well as pressure vessels. Taking SQ company as the researchobject, the article uses the related theories of performance management and integrates with the trade characteristics, strategic goal and current management situation to proceed the preliminary design and discussions on the performance management system of the company.The text is composed of four parts. The first part, being the relevant theoretical summary, introduces the related theory, principle and method of performance management and lays the theoretical basis for the design of performance management system of the article. The second part introduces the general situation of SQ company and carries on the analysis and evaluation of the company' s current human resource and performance management conditions. The third part designs the performance management system for SQ company, introduces the design thought and preparatory work for performance management system, and designs according to the performance management process of performance plan, performance instruction, performance examination and performance feedback. The fourth part is the evaluation and conclusion after the implementation of performance management system.
