Research On The Design Of Investment Decision Support System Based On The Technology Of Data Warehouse

The core of business management is the financial decisionmaking. In the increasingly complicated environment of market economy, confronted with the the strong competition pressure, enterprise should make the financial decision more effectively. The financial decision support system (FDSS) can provide information and scheme for many financial problems to the supervisors and lighten their burden of low_level work of processing and ananlysing the information. In the case of using the FDSS, the supervisors are absorbed in the decision work which need their intelligence and experience most. In the middle of 90's in the 20^th century, data warehouse, OLAP and datamining, new technologies for decision support, had led to a new research dimension for DSS. The paper focuses mainly on the design of investment DSS by applying these new technologies.Chapter 1 of this paper is the summary of enterprise's investment decision. At first it describes the object of discussion as the enterprise's investment of fixed assets and related current assets on account of the abundant content of investment decision. Then it gives a detail discussing of the characteristic, procedure and commonly used method of the investment decision.Chapter 2 describes FDSS and technology of data warehouse. Because the investment DSS is the special-purpose of FDSS, so it is necessary to expound the meaning, characteristic, and basic system structure of FDSS in this chapter. In order to state its strong support function on FDSS, section two carries on the detailed argumentation to the concept, characteristic, system structure, key technology of the data warehouse. This part aims at preparing for the design research of ensuing chapter.Chapter 3 discusses in detail the design of investment DSS based on data warehouse. It is the key part of this paper. This chapter sets out from the goal and function of investment DSS, proposes the whole logic structure of investment DSS, then discusses separately the design of such logic parts as the model storehouse, data warehouse, interactive subsystem. Finally,it gives an example of a industry enterprise to carry on concrete analysis and further explanation to the design of investment DSS based on data warehouse.The last chapter is the sum-up of this paper. It introduces briefly the situation of domestic research and the focal point in the future on FDSS.
