The three resource-typed cities, namely Huludao city, Panjin city and Fuxin city, are in different phases of resource dependent development in western Liaoning Province. Huludao is a new resource-typed city, Panjin is a middle phase resource-typed city (climax developed city), while Fuxin is an aged phase resource-typed cities (the resource exhausted city). These cities sustain the economic development of the country and supply mining production & primary products consuming the local natural resource. During the process, the urban development, especially the construction of the urban land structure, was neglected by the local governments, which brings the degrading of the city functions, the extending of the land area and the confusion of the land use structure, etc.. And the situation is a good example to study the intensive utilization of urban land of the resource-typed cities. At the same time, the cities are in the important phases of the economy and social development, and in the background of prospering the old industrial base of northeastern China, in the rapid development of urbanization, and the extension of the use construction of the urban land. While there are only a few studies on the land use of the resource-typed cities, the study on the intensive land use is even less. Therefore, the study on the land intensive utilization of the resource-typed cities is necessary no matter in the views of the protection of land resource, the perfection of land science, the development of the city or the sound collocation of the urban land. The land intensive utilization is brought forward by Germany economist J.H.Thunen, the sutra theory of land rational intensity, then continued by British economist, A.Marshall, the law of land diminishing return, and developed by the current studies on the urban land intensive use, it has been classified into four types: capital intensive-typed, labor intensive-typed, technology intensive- typed and ecology intensive-typed. The theory of the land intensive utilization is gradually developing, and becoming a focus to the society. The paper acquires the conceptions of the urban land intensive utilization depending on the natural characteristics of the fixity of land... |
