For recent years, logistics industry, especially the emergence of third party logistics (TPL) in different forms, has been developing rapidly, which has accelerated our market economy prosperity and become an important pillar of China's national economy. With the accelerated process of logistics internationalization and the Chinese WTO entry, logistics industry encounters the increasingly acute competition. Advanced transnational logistics companies threaten domestic logistics enterprises which are in a initiatory phase. Under the environment, it is necessary to find out an effective and operational method for our logistics enterprises to promote the level of logistics enterprise management and the progress of logistics industry. At first, the paper analyzes the competitive background and the research meaning. Theories of corporation competence at home and abroad are dissertated systematically, as well as relationship of TPL and enterprise core competence is explained strictly. In the next place, competitive environment of TPL enterprise is analyzed qualitatively from the angle of macro side and micro side respectively. By using fuzzy comprehensive identification model and fuzzy-element identification model, the competence of logistics enterprise can be discerned quantitatively. The paper also discusses thoroughly the actual problems and the development trend of TPL enterprises. On the basis of qualitative and quantificational analysis, corresponding proposals are put forward for domestic TPL corporations to elevate the competence. Finally, an example about the competence of TPL enterprises is analyzed concretely, and essential terms to build up the competence of TPL corporations are brought forward.
