For a long time, the maintenance work in thermal power plant has been usingplanned maintenance or default maintenance, etc. traditional maintenance method. Byusing this method, no matter the equipment is in good condition or bad condition, allof them need to be maintained according to the plan, which not only wastesmanpower and material resource, but also reduce the availability coefficient of theunit. Therefore, with the expansion of the unit capacity, the increase of the auxiliaryequipment amount and the enhancing of the science and technology level, thetraditional maintenance method probably will be replaced by another maintenancemethod, that is, optimized maintenance method.In the power reform course, the electric power market is gradually formed. Atpresent, the government has not totally opened up the tariff competition yet. How tomaximum the reduction of the generation cost has become the most severe problemfaced by the thermal power plant and concerned the existence of the plant. Optimizemaintenance management can effectively reduce the generating cost. Optimizedmaintenance is also a comprehensive project, which is conductive to the formation ofmodern management concept and system, the enhancement of the basic managementlevel of the thermal power plant maintenance and operation, the recognitiondeepening of the working theory, default cause, the risk degree, the maintenancemethod of the system and equipment. It also can create scientific decision making andinnovation atmosphere for the development of the thermal power plant.This article introduces the optimized maintenance concept and intension andmaintenance system changing process. It points out the meaning to realize optimizedmaintenance. It takes the Pushan Power Plant as example to illustrate in detail theimplementation of optimized maintenance and the effect of it (including the problemsexisted), to further spread up the discussion and propose the establishment ofoptimized maintenance system and mechanism. It uses information technology tostrengthen the basic management and develop innovation and focuses on the riskpoint analysis, safety and economic evaluation and point checking and repair. Itstrengthens the application of optimized maintenance in thermal power plant andproposes that advanced monitoring, diagnosis and analysis technique are thenecessary means to implement optimized maintenance.
