A Study On Rigidity Of Information System And Process-oriented Information System

Along with the increasing competitions in market,in order to inprove the adaptability to the environment, the business model of enterprise must come up with the change of market.Therefor,the most important feature of information system which act as the foundation to support the enterprise's operation is its adaptability to the change of the management model,namely,the flexibility of system.however,the rigidity which existed in itself has intangible contradiction with the flexibility of demand.This paper will analyse the origin of the system's rigidity,and then conclude the measurement of rigidity. At first,this paper researches the ragidity of information system,and then puts farward the definition of rigidity. With the analysis of the development method in information system,combining with the thoughts of the business process and the process management, posing the process –oriented development method of information system,and then we analyse the concept model and the architecture of process-oriented information system.Through the application of this method,People can adopt the method of process-oriented at phase of system analysis, decrease the liberty of the management, and relatively restrain the the rigidity of the information system.Through the analysis of the definition of the rigidity of the information system, a metric index of the rigidity of the information system is given on the perspective of the cost at last.On the basis of combining with some enterprise's order process, empirical research is on the metric of the rigidity of the information system. Among researches on information system,the researches which are specifically on rigidity of information are rare.This paper offers an idea and a framework for such researches also provides a new thought to increase the adaptability of information system to the management environment.
