DK International Trade Company Competitiveness Analysis

DK International Trade Company was established in 1995, specializing in the import & export of chemicals . The turnover ' in 2004 is 12.5 million US dollars. It has got great achievements . At the same time there are also some problems on business strategy. In recent years, some changes have taken place in the world economy, such as economic integration, regionalization, corporate grouping, free trade as well as trade protectionism, together with China's accession to the WTO. While bringing about many developing opportunities to DK Co., they have posed a great challenge to the company's survival and development.Based on investigation and research, this paper studied the situation and trend of chemicals business in recent years . Starting with its general business situation, this paper summarizes DK Co.'s business successes and shortcomings in the past. It discusses the new changes in the international, domestic and industry background as well as their impact on the company's business. Aiming at characteristics of chemical industry ,from management, cost control, marketing and information construction aspects, the paper emphasized on status of DK Co. on competition, and pointed out the measurement that should be taken. It then presents the current state and the problems the company faces and analyses their causes. It supplies a strategy of increasing the occupation rate in the international market and recommends to establish high efficiency system, plan the export channels, establish its own direct promotion system. I hope the strategy and measures could be with realistic meaning.
