A Research On The Application Of Social Network Analysis In The Hotspots Discipline

With the development of information technology and the Internet, the academic research information is increasing. Therefore, how to extract the discipline development direction and the research hotspots is particularly important and urgent. On one hand, the study of research hotspots can provide the decision making reference for managers, and it can also identify the research direction and offer the subject intelligence for the academic researchers; on the other hand, the study of research hotspots can reveal the law of discipline development and the future development trends, which is helpful in guiding, supporting and bracing the teaching practice, scientific research and discipline construction in colleges and universities.At present, the basic method to reveal discipline hotspots is the word frequency statistics, which fails to make in-depth, systematic analysis of the linkages and interaction between the hotspots. In this context, considering the existing recessive network between discipline hotspots and the interaction and mutual influence of these hotspots, based on the method of word frequency statistics, the paper innovatively uses social network analysis method to analyze roundly and systematically discipline hotspots and finally visualize the research results by utilizing the special advantages of social network analysis.This paper introduces the formation and development about the theory of social network analysis, the research content, research methods of social network analysis. Then it designs a research plan for analyzing discipline hotspots by means of social network analysis method, draws the specific data processing flow chart and the hot subjects analysis flow chart, and designs the comparative analysis of the index system. Then on the basis of a comparative analysis of intelligence discipline hotspots in China and the USA, an empirical comparative analysis is made concerning the individual attributes, entirety attributes and dynamic progress of the discipline hotspots networks in both countries, and the result is also visualized. Finally, through the method of Delphi the exactness of research results and the feasibility to use social network analysis method in keywords network are verified.The empirical analysis about the case and the feedback of the experts prove that the application of social network analysis method to discipline hotspots can well reveal the interaction between the hotspots and can indicate the dynamic changes of the results in real time situation. Through Ucinet software, the analysis results can be visualized in graphs so as to reveal the valuable information within the network and arouse people's thinking. This paper also verifies the universal feasibility of hotspot empirical analysis processing flow and data processing flow. This research plan is not only applicable to intelligence discipline, but also applicable to any other subjects.
