In order to counter the competition of other emerging wireless broadband technologylike WiMAX and Wi-Fi,and enhance the competitiveness of 3G in the emerging broadbandwireless access market,the International Standards Organization 3GPP launched its LongTerm Evolution - LTE technology standardization work in late 2004.In this thesis,give a basic overview of LTE physical layer firstly, followed by the two keytechnologies of LTE downlink simulation :OFDM and MIMO, and will combine them to forma MIMO-OFDM system for the foundation of the Link Simulation .Then, there are the step ofdesign and implementation for the LTE downlink simulation platform,which work in thechannel of PDSCH, and the design is modular in structure to be designed. Implementationprocess is carried out in two steps, the first step is the broadband OFDM-MIMO systemsimulation without channel code,and compared with single antenna simulation results foundthat the BER performance of MIMO is significantly better than single antenna;in this step alsocarried out the comparison QPSK and other modulation BER sumualation,found that in thecondition of simulation parameter settings in this thesis, QPSK performs better than the other,so the simulation are used in this article is the QPSK modulation.The second step is carriedout the entire downlink simulation with the channel coding.Finally,make a further simulationanalysis of MIMO in the downlink simulation platform,and found that the TD can achievelower BER than SM ,and for SM,the detection performance of MMSE is better than ZF.
