With the continuous developing of research and utilization of wireless sensor network, the traditional MCU resolution which is respresented by 8-bit single chip mircocomputer is becoming more and more difficult to meet the incresing high requirement of computing ability. These years, with the high developing velocity of SoC and manufactural technology, the high-performance embeded micro-computer has had a really great boom. Different from the traditional versatile processors, embeded micro-computer composes different IO and memory resource together into one chip which is dedicated to a paticular application in order to balance the power cosumption and chip area to meet the constraints of this paticular application.Through the detail discussion and analysis. In order to get an ideal trade off among performance cost and proprietary intelligence property, we propose a method which using the OpenRisc architecture based micro-controller to construct our own MCU. This architecture has many advantages, such as fully-synthesizable, rich resource of periphery, high-performance, support of low-power-consumption design, good support of software and fully free intelligence property. We also propose some methods here which make some modifications to the architecture to let it fill our WSN-application much better. This takes a great meaning to how to enhance the performance of an MCU at the application layer.Based on the research of how to construct an efficient and high-performance MCU, this paper also take some methodologies about how to minimize the power-consumption as much as possible, by delicate concern and analysis, I use some different and leading fashion of low-power-cosumption design methdologies.such as Multi-Voltage design, voltage and frequency scaling design, ip design, etc. From the experiment results, we can conclude that by exerting these methods, we can significantly lower the whole power consumption, which give a great possibility of using our MCU in real-applications.Then , this paper will give out a skeleton about how to build up an scalable usable flexible ASIC chip. The developing environment based on this chip should be open ,easy for programming and easy for transplanting. At last, we give out an FPGA platform on which our MCU run, hope from the direct show, you can get an congition of building up an MCU with full proprietary intellectual property and high performance and low-power consumption is feasible.
