This dissertation is based on OPhone OS Smartphone Platform R&D project of ChinaMobile (CMCC). The main purpose is the software development and testing of Radio InterfaceLayer on OPhone OS Smartphone Platform, including RIL Java layer, RIL abstract layer, RILimplementation layer and multi-PDP.Firstly, the paper analyses the archetecture of Android and OPhone OS, and therequirements of Chine Mobile Data Services, and then comes up with the hierarchy of RadioInterface Layer based on the Marvell TarvorP HW environment. According to thefunctionalities of RIL, the software process is divided to three parts: the initialization processof RIL daemon, request dispatch process and response process. The goal of the task is toimplement the RIL based on Marvell TavorP HW, which can be used as communicationinterface between OPhone OS applications and baseband Modem, includingGSM/GPRS/EDGE and TD-SCDMA. Moreover, the network data correspondence principleand method based on the Linux system has been utilized in this implementation to supports theMulti-PDP connection. The Multi-PDP connection solves the issue in the Android platformthat different applications can not be able to use the different network configurationsimultaneously to carry on the data communication.After the strict and meticulous system test, the implementation of Radio Interface Layercan be initialized on Marvell TavorP HW platform and achieves the RIL message dispatch &response, and also can be integrated with baseband modem provide by several manufacturers.The test result indicates that it can fully meet the requirements of CMCC. Besides, it supportsthe multi-PDP in data connection. The value of LPR in test report met the clients'damands.The implementation of Radio Interface Layer proposed in this dissertation already hasbeen applied in the OPhone OS Smartphone Platform. It reduces the threshold of TD-SCDMA smartphone device and accelerates the industrialization of TD-SCDMA smartphone devce. Theentire project which this dissertation based on has won"The Innovation Award of TD TerminalApplication Platform"prize, which is awarded by TD Industry Alliance, in February, 2010.
