CNC machine tool system and the machine tool measuring system is a key part of modern machine tools, especially machine tool measuring system, which is a prerequisite for ensuring high-precision machine tools. The sensor measurement system is a critical component, but the current sensor market is basically dominated by foreign products, few independent intellectual property rights of sensors and the numerical control systems and machine tools are not largely compatible with internal sensors. If we can smooth machine tool numerical control system and docking domestic products, it has very important significance for the gross national product and national defense construction.In this paper, sensor status and development directions are reviewed, focusing on the current market, a very popular abroad, the basic working principle of encoder and signal exchange. At the same time its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.Then it describes a China with independent intellectual property rights of the sensor - time grating sensors, and the basic principles of its related products were reviewed. Finally highlights the basic working principle and signal exchange of time grating sensors which has a shape and the market. This system consists of two main functional modules as the core. Module 1 - the transducer connected to the receiver of the absolute time grating sensor signal and translate them into an absolute encoder signal. Module1 is the core of the design. Verification module (module 2) receives the output signal of module 1, module 2 simulates the absolute encoder signal receiving system and verifys the signal after conversion of module 1, see conversion was successful or not. Finally done with the time grating connected to the real machine sensor detection tests and collected data, the error curve obtained, then based on the analysis of the error curve ,the system is improved, finally got the right design.
