Since 21st century, wireless communications, microelectronics, networks technology develop at a fast speed. Wireless sensor network (WSN) combined with the sensor technology, the embedded type, the distributed information processing and wireless communications is considered as one of the most important technologies in this century. WSN shows multiple applications in the future for it can monitor and acquire information from the environment or other targets and process them. As two of core technologies of WSN, time synchronization and positioning are greatly important theoretically and practically. This article has studied time synchronization and positioning after a brief introduction to the related knowledge. According to NTP, RBS, BTS and so on, this article has advanced a new algorism-TSA. The algorism applies single responding node and carrying technique to minimize messages possibly; build up buffer area and fit data linearly to smooth oscillating movements of system error. The algorism has improved precision and complexity for low power supply of sensors. Then the positioning algorism of Cricket2.0 system-trilateral measurement method was in research and then experiments proved that both the position and distance of beacon nodes impact the algorism greatly. Valid area was found out based on analysis of devices and data. To improve precision and stability, Fang algorism from TDOA technology substituted trilateral measurement method. The article has explained the new algorism in detail. Finally, after programming the two algorisms into the device, they were compared with each other by the experiment and it indicated my method had increased the precision and stability of the device.
