The Development Of Real-time BCI Software System

After the EEG is collected, we can extract it and transform it, and then we can explain the controlling signal from the EEG. This technology can make our thinking contact the outside rising above the nervous system and the four limbs of the body.A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a communication system that does not depend on the brain's normal output pathways of peripheral nerves and muscles. It is an active topic in brain function research field. Recently, with rapid development of computer technique and signal process technique, researchers engaging in the fields with psychological cognition and brain science not only focus their whole power in research of EEG signal process algorithm, but also concentrate on real implement of BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) with their better passion. Up to now, many institutions abroad concerning BCI have developed some kinds of BCI system applied to real world by the latest technology. But according to development of the current BCI system, most system focus on the off-line analyzing to the EEG, and they have just no high performance with highly expensive price. Therefore, it is so important to develop a real-time BCI system to improve the utility value.After deeply studies every aspect of BCI's implement through a great deal of related literature and to combine some research results in our laboratory, this paper has develop a real-time BCI system which has integrate some kinds of EEG signal process algorithm and some prevalent function. By using the Observer design pattern and the technology of the object oriented, via the signal data as data source collected by XLTEX and BCI2nd, we realize the real-time display and analyzing function, at the same time we integrate the client/server pattern to implement the optimized management to the data source, and we has develop data transform module to make a better analyze, it can integrated many algorithm including some we make by myself and others we collect from other place, it can realize the function of the preliminary extract the character of the original signal data.
