Since power consumption is greatly high during the Aluminum electrolysis process, power consumption reduction helps to improve economic efficiency of aluminum plant. Cell temperature, metaling point temperature, aluminum height and electrolyte height are important technology parameters of industrial aluminum production from efficiency and energy consumption points. During practice production, workers need to surveil locale condition, administrators need to monitor remotely aluminum cell. Aiming at the inconvenient problem on remote transmission by sence cable, wireless technology has some advantages. The parameter detecting system, which has low power, ad-hoc and wireless communication, is presented to improve automation level in aluminum electrolysis production.After review parameter detection principles of electrolysis plant and ZigBee wireless technology, this paper proposes an approach how to design a multi-parameter detection system based on ZigBee technology. The main research content and results are as follows:(1)According to the needs of application, an overall planning on the system is given, the structures of multi-parameter detection system is designed. Meanwhile, the main devices of the system are chosen carefully in terms of lower power, work requirement and higher anti-interference performance.(2) The on-spot parameters acquisition module based on Atmegal28 has been introduced. The acquisition module is geared toward multi-parameter detection including cell temperature, metaling point temperature, aluminum height and electrolyte height. Furthermore, the design details about the specific design principles and implementation of multi-parameter acquisition also have been presented.(3) ZigBee module and remote communication module are introduced. Firstly, the foundation of Electrolysis plant ZigBee wireless network and the binding communication of multi-parameters are described. Then the design of remote communication module, which come true protocol transition between ZigBee and CAN, is particular introduced. Finally, we monitor multi-parameters of electrolysis plant in control center.(4) Based on the ZigBee networking experimental platform which is builded, ZigBee networking experiment is conducted. Considering on environmental factor influences in Electrolysis plant, the quality of ZigBee network is measured. The experiment result shows that ZigBee network communication link has a degree of guarantee. The aluminum Electrolysis plant multi-parameter detecting system of this paper has the advantage of measurement accricy, transmission reliability, networking flexibility and low cost.
