In recent years, Internet of Things (IOT), with cross-disciplinary feature, has become a hot research topic in the information technology industry. Quite a range of countries regard it as an importance strategic deployment. In China, the development of IOT is represented by M2M (Machine-to-Machine/Man) Technology.In order to achieve the safe management of various types of mobile terminals, the Wireless M2M Protocol (WMMP), which is one of the core elements of M2M system, was proposed by major mobile operators. Nevertheless, due to different understanding and realization of each party, coupled with different application characteristics and user requirements, the implementation of terminal's interface protocol is different, which deeply affect the development of M2M, or even that of IOT.In this paper, based on a comprehensive analysis of IOT and M2M development, extensive study has been conducted for WMMP message structure, communications mode and security mechanisms. Then the paper designs and implements a M2M performance test platform, which aims to validate the conformance of WMMP.This thesis is divided into seven chapters.Chapter one gives a brief introduction on the background, motivation and scope of this study. Chapter two describes a general analysis and research from two aspects, which are global status quo of IOT and M2M technology in China.Chapter three gives a depth-study of the structure of WMMP message, its communication mode and its security mechanisms.Chapter four designs and implements a M2M performance test platform with TTCN-3, after requirement analysis. The platform is divided into test suit, adapter, codec.Chapter five designs test cases for M2M terminal protocol, according to the M2M characteristics, and proves the effectiveness of this platform.Chapter six has M2M terminal conformance verification with this platform and analyses the test result.Chapter seven summarizes the thesis and presents the future work.
