The Researching And Implementation Of The PMS Rate Monitor Of CMMB Multiplexer

With the rapid development of information technology and telecommunications industry, Mobile Multimedia broadcasting will be an important component of broadcast and television, and it also would be a complement and extension of broadcast and television.The mobile multimedia broadcasting's radio signal is sent via satellite and terrestrial broadcasting.In the signal's coverage area, users can receive news, information, and entertainment TV programs on mobile terminals,such as mobile phone, PDA, MP3,MP4, notebook computers, and terminals on ships or cars.China mobile multimedia broadcasting (CMMB) is a mobile multimedia broadcasting standard which is independently developed by China, and China has the full independent intellectual property rights of CMMB.CMMB needs to improve the service quality continually in it's progress, not just to improve network coverage, rich services,the performance optimization of equipment is also a very important factor.But the accurate measurement is the premise of optimizing device performance.In the mobile multimedia broadcasting originator system, CMMB Multiplexer function is to pack audio,video,data, E-Business guide, emergency broadcasts and other information, and then the packages of them can be sent in the mobile multimedia broadcasting channel.In order to guide industrial development, the State released the GY/T 220.8-2008 "Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting Part 8:Multiplexer technical requirements and measurement methods" for CMMB Multiplexer development,production,application,measurement and operation maintenance.This paper will introduce the design and implementation of the PMS Rate Montor of CMMB Multiplexer. It will be discussed in this paper that the way of transferring data between personal computers and measurement devices using PCI, ASI,or serial port and the analysis of the measurement algorithms and technical requirements with the PMS output rate of CMMB multiplexer. And it will also verify the accuracy and credibility of PMS Rate Montior using the way of comparing measurement results.The PMS Rate Monitor which will be described in this paper has been applied.
