In past few years, TD-SCDMA technology and applications grow up very fast, and we can see more and more TD-SCDMA terminals in market. Normally, wireless terminal develop based on wireless communication platform, so according to more and more functions and applications in terminal, wireless communication platform also need to upgrade very quickly.This paper introduced the ST Ericsson T7210 wireless communication platform software/hardware technical characteristics and working mechanism, it mainly research T7210 platform software defects and it treatment flow. Accompany more and more customers and productions, the most important thing for platform provider is how to help customer develop their productions and how can make customer satisfying. In this paper, it discusses from the view of technical support, and the key issue is:Improve the software defects treatment flow. For this topic, it needs to research as below step:Firstly, analyze the currently software defect treatment. By researched the T7210 platform ClearDDTS defect database and the currently defects treatment flow, it discuss the advantage and disadvantage about these parts. From the analysis, it clarify the key point for improve the software defects treatment flow in next step is promote local customer support team efficiency and capability.Secondly, classify the software defect. Improve the software defects treatment flow must based on platform characteristic, otherwise it impossible really achieve success. So classify software defect is very important, according to platform software architecture and defect attributes, this paper classify defect as subsystem, defect treatment result and defect impact.Thirdly, statistic and analysis software defect based on defect classification. It provide the detail analysis for 9 subsystems and its mainly function software modules based on one-variable data analysis, and provide the software defects distributing, availability software defects distributing, serious software defects distributing and software defect submit time distributing. It also analyses the root cause for some typical and common defects based on Fault Tree Analysis and Fishbone Diagram. About the software defects data in this paper, used the platform defect data from typical project RUBY which developed based on T7210 platform.Based on analyze the software defects treatment and classification, which also reference the statistic and analysis result, finally this paper provide the suggestions for software defects treatment flow improvement:firstly, optimize currently software defect treatment flow, which means partial optimize the treatment flow by technical method; secondly, promote local customer support team efficiency and capability based on current support team organization and software defect statistic result; thirdly, change local customer support team organization structure to improve efficiency.In practice, these suggestions can give the theory and data support for following projects and platforms, and it can also coach how to improve the technical support in the future, all these efforts would make customers satisfy with the platform and the technical support.
