ASON can be called automatic switched optical network, it is one of the core technologies to construct the next generation optical network. With its predominance of advanced technology and network building method, ASON represents the developing trend of optical communication technology and the evolution of optical network. ASON introduced intelligent control plane based on transport plane and management plane, used new technologies such as signaling, routing and auto-discovery, providing the ability of automatic bandwidth distribution and dynamic circuit allocation. Since the ENNI interface of ASON has not been standardized, interconnection between different equipment suppliers is staying in the laboratory phase without case of application.Chapter 1 gives an introduction of the concept and architecture of intelligent optical networks, evaluates the status of FUZHOU Telecom's native transmission network, and brings forward the objective of researching on ASON interconnection test. Chapter 2 expatiates on the international progress of ASON standardization and interconnection test, and summarizes the basic requirements to realize interconnection between different equipment suppliers. Chapter 3 technically analyzes how to realize multi- domain interconnection crossing ENNI. Chapter 4 sets up the testing plan of ASON experiment interconnection network, and validates the feasibility of multi-domain interconnection crossing ENNI between different equipment suppliers from the aspects of traffic establishment, protection restoration and maintenance management. Chapter 5 concludes the principle of building ASON network. This test validates the feasibility of ASON and establishes the future the foundation of ASON mass deployment and interconnection.
