The State Standardization Administration of China issued GB20600-2006 Standard, the digital television terrestrial broadcasting transmission system frame structure, channel coding and modulation standard on August 30,2006, which is a national compulsory standard. The approval date is August 18th,2006 and the implementation date is August 1st,2007.The GB terrestrial digital TV uses the frame structure and time-domain synchronous orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (TDS-OFDM) system which is evaluated as a basic invention by the State Intellectual Property Office. It can support the Single Frequency Network (SFN) well. Considering the shortage of frequency resources and GB20600-2006 Standard's supportability for the SFN, SFN is the primary networking model for GB terrestrial digital TV to achieve coverage. The performance of overlapping coverage area determines the quality of SFN. This paper focuses on the research of the performance of overlapping coverage area, and explores the adjusting and optimization both theoretically and practically. In theoretical simulation, this paper explores the effect brought by power and latency. In practice, this paper introduces the process of adjusting the performance of SFN based on long-term practice on network optimization. The proposed method in this paper is instructive for the future research and work of SFN.
