Wireless ad hoc networks is an integrated part of next generation broadband wireless networks, which is different from Infrastructure network. It is peer to peer, decentralized control, and multi hop routing. Wireless ad hoc routing protocol is the key factor affecting real time network performance, and has been the most important part of the research. For heterogeneous network convergence in the terminal collaboration technology, we focus on AODV (Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) routing protocol study; based on the analysis of available open-source implementation of AODV, and analysis on the routing mechanism of unicast AODV routing protocol and multicast AODV routing protocol, we propose a implementation solution under Linux. Then design a system supporting both IPv4 and IPv6, and a framwork for supporting multicast AODV routing. Finally implement the routing protocol supportting both IPv4 and IPv6, validate the implementation and test the performance and analysis the cause of link break in AODV and the various solutions.
