LTE (Long Term Evolution) is widely considered as the way of currently commercial 3G wireless communication systems evolution. It will be deployed for commercial gradually in the next few years with the finishing of standardization procedure. Due to the limitation of frequency resources and the growing service requirement, two LTE systems belonging to different operators might occupy the adjacent bandwidths in the same geographical area. The interference between these two systems could lead to throughput degradation. So the coexistence study between two LTE systems could be worth for both academia and industry. In order to provide data service with high rate and low latency in indoor environment, HeNB (Home eNodeB) is supposed to be the proper solution. This kind of uncoordinated network should not interfering traditional cellular networks significantly. It could be valuable to research the RF characteristic requirement from the aspect of interference management during the standardization of HeNB.This paper firstly studied the interference between two LTE systems in homogeneous and heterogeneous networks. Additional isolation was given by the combined using of deterministic link budget and system level simulation. Meanwhile, several key techniques, such as beam-forming or frequency reuse, which could upgrade system performance in coexisting scenarios were investigated. The effect of each technique was shown by simulation results. In the typical scenario of HeNB coexisting with Macro eNodeB, the minimum requirement of HeNB transmitter and receiver RF characteristic were analyzed. On the purpose of reducing interference from HeNB to Macro eNodeB and enhancing the capability of the receiver to receive a wanted signal in the presence of an interfering signal inside the received channel bandwidth, the proposed reference value of HeNB RF characteristic was given.
