With the development of Internet technology, the Internet in people's lives and work play an increasingly important role.The Internet's rich resources and services are improving and enhancing people's quality of life and work efficiency. Network TV, video conferencing and online shopping, etc, these multi-media applications on the Internet requires high network bandwidth and high network quality of service support. Bandwidth and quality of service is increasingly becoming the two major bottlenecks in development of the Internet.Early narrowband access technologies can no longer satisfy people's demand for bandwidth,the current birth of a variety of broadband access technology. XDSL technology becomes a major broadband access technology due to low-cost, easy to deploy.VDSL2 is the next generation of xDSL broadband access technology, compared to other xDSL technologies, can provide greater bandwidth and better support for multimedia services.The target of the paper is to study VDSL2 technology and describe VDSL2 CPE equipment design and implementation.The project research approach is to study the relevant technical standards for VDSL2.In order to better understand the relevant content, this article compares the XDSL technologies currently available.For VDSL2 CPE equipment design and implementation, in the hardware choices are BroadCom's BCM96358 chipset and IKANOS of VDSL2 chipsets. This paper describes the main features of the chipsets supported, important hardware interfaces and hardware design architecture.The VDSL2 project in software is using the same software architecture as ADSL2+ CPE device's, this article describes some of the key modules of existing functionality to achieve.Focus on the design and implementation of the VDSL2 interface management module, which is a new software module compared with ADSL2+.At the same time, the paper introduces three kinds of key technologies:U interface, QOS implementation and VLAN implementations.The functional requirements of the project mainly come from the TR-101 protocol standard and the function implementation of similar products.Through the study of VDSL2 technology and the developping experience of VDSL2 CPE equipment,it is easier to develop next device with VDSL2 interface.
