With the rapid development of computer science technology and automation, instrument in our country is developing rapidly. There are several problems in instrument development process because of the weak foundation, for instance the chaos of product development management, the weakness of time control in product development, the disjoint between test and R&D as well. Analyzing status quo and modeling business process are the important mean of improving instrument product development process. It has positive and practical significance for improving efficiency of design and R&D.Workflow technology is core technology for modeling, executing, monitoring, analysis measuring and optimization of business process. Right to use workflow technologies in its business process modeling and analysis can not only standardize the business processes, but also find the business process unreasonable links, as well as guiding enterprises to implement management information system model. The efficiency of workflow modeling is improved to a great extent with the production and management.The thesis mainly focuses on the theory of workflow modeling and analysis for instrument product development process with workflow and Petri net technology. Firstly, at the aspect of performance analysis, Markov analysis which can cause state space explosion is introduced to get the time performance. Workflow net and Generalized Stochastic Petri Nets, WF-GSPN for short, is based on workflow and Petri net technology. Method of WF-GSPN has four routers, it can transform the reduced model which has only one place and one transition .The author calculates the average execution time of workflow and proposes a method to transform business process to workflow.Secondly, this paper comprehensively analyses the project features and the problems in instrument product development process. Then, the following chapters design business process and model workflow system focusing on the analysis. The validity of the model is proved by Petri net, and the performance of the model is analyzed with the theories on Markov Chain and WF-GSPN. The reduced model analysis is an effective method to solve the problem of computational complexity and avoid state space explosion. Finally, this system's design and realization which standardize instrument quality control according to ISO9001 has satisfied the need of workflow process definition and process execution, effectively advances instrument information construction.
