Based on the MIC-2000 series cards used in industrial computers, the field control stations of DCS are designed and developed, in which Windows CE 6.0 is used as a real time operation system. In this issue, the design ideas of the modular, hierarchical and reusable are used for the developing of the station. The technology of the multithreading and thread priority scheduling are applied to enhance the concurrent processing and real-time responsiveness of the system. Because the fault-tolerant mechanisms and log files are adopted in the software of the system, the stability of the system has also been improved.At first, the paper describes the building of VS2005 and Windows CE 6.0 IDE, the customization of Windows CE 6.0. Then the design and development of field control station system, system stability analysis and performance measurement are also presented.We use Windows CE 6.0 real-time OS as the platform of operation system and C# as our developing program language. In order to improve the concurrency response capability and scalability of the system some other technologies have been adopted. In this issue, we use XML technology to describe the communication data which can solve the transfer data structure's complexity and TCP protocol without messages borders problem. Because of the XML's good architecture, we enhanced data structure scalability and code reusability of the issue. Meanwhile, for the designing of the application software, we use the design ideas of the modular and reusable, so the coupling between modules is reduced and the module function's singularity is improved.The Real-time requirements of the embedded systems have also been treated in this issue. With the support of Multi-threading, priority scheduling and using of Windows CE 6.0 real-time OS platform, the system has a good concurrent processing and real-time responsiveness.
