Mobile TV Program Genre Analysis

Presently, the 3rd generation communication technology has become a brand new platform for mobile broadcasting, which will bring great changes in media communication marking by the rapid data transfer and interactiveness on wireless broadband. Mobile TV is one of the most important application in this revolution. However, 3G application in China is just in the first phase, construction of network hasn't been completed, either, commercial business is in search for its own way. Although mobile TV has been developing for several years in China, but it is still saving up strenth for future determined by uncertain standard and immature program system. The authorizing of 3G licenses has been realized, so we should put more attention on the producing of mobile TV program, while mobile TV program genre become a focus.Mobile TV program is the core of this paper, emphasizing what genre is suitable for mibile receiving and watching, this new type of media. Basing on the analysis of traditional TV program, the appropriate genre of video program on small screen will be clear for us. China has the biggest population using mible phone, when the combination of mobile phone and TV is accomplished, mobile TV is definitely to be a new media with great social influence. The opening of 3G will provide powerful support for the development of mobile TV while the program producing will become an important segment in the whole industry chain and this study is dedicated to the mibile TV industry and mobile TV program producing.
