The virtual display of leaf color is one of key parts in digitization and visualization of crops growth system. This paper takes the cucumber as the object of study, establishes the model of leaf color change with the product of thermal effectiveness (TE)and Photo-synthetically active radiation (PAR).We use three dimensional graphical display technologies, and combine the process texture production technology as well as the cellular basic function, realize visualization simulation of the cucumber leaf color. The main researches are as follows:First, we will build a physiological model. We should consider about the following aspects: analysis of variational environmental data; the change trend of leaf shape (leaf length, width and area), biochemistry component (chlorophyll), and SPAD along with TEP. Based on the data, we build a relational model of SPAD and chlorophyll, a model of the relationship of SPAD and TEP and we also make the verification of the models.Second, a mathematical model of SPAD and RGB values is needed. We should consider the different varieties, different leave positions. Third, according to the above two models, simulates the color of leaves with Visual Studio 6.0, uses the cell texture in the visualization process.In order to realize the digitization and visualization of cucumber growth system, the virtual display of leaf color is one of the hot issues. Since the leaf color in hypothesized demonstration is directly expressed by the RGB value, not by SPAD, thus our research bases on cucumber's physiological growth process, uses the change tendency of chlorophyll to reflect the change discipline of the leaf color.Through the observation of SPAD change rule of the cucumber leaf, we analyzed the quota relations between SPAD and the RGB value of leaf color, thus established the simulated model which is able to systemically describe the cucumber leaf color change, manifest the cucumber leaf SPAD morphogenesis process well.The model described the cucumber leaf SPAD change pattern with the partition function, conforming to biologic rule. Description of SPAD and the RGB quota relations with the linear equation can fit well the dynamic change of the cucumber leaf color.Further we used the independent cucumber field experiments to carry on the preliminary test and the verification of SPAD change process on the different positions, the results show that our model has the good predictability to the characteristic of cucumber leaf SPAD change, thus provide the technical support for the virtual display of the cucumber growth.
