This paper firstly described the development of power electronic devices and frequency conversion technology, concluded that variable frequency speed regulating technology is the development trend of AC drive. Based on analyzing double-variable control theory and six-pulse cycloconverter output frequency trigger rules , a control tactics by optimizing the trigger pulse and adding non-integer frequency bands using the average cycle law was proposed. An experimental scheme combining the frequency and voltage was adopted to achieve a speed full range, and the frequency switching pattern among different bands was researched to realize the dynamic transition of frequency control .Designed the six pulse cycloconverter system and established Matlab / Simulink simulation model based on the actual system, studied the operation state of six-pulse double-variable cycloconverter in each frequency band. It validated the feasibility of the double-variable control theory in six-pulse cycloconverter as well as got ready for smooth dynamic transition control of frequency division. The final design was the experiment loading system. By analyzing the output voltage and current waveforms besides the corresponding harmonic characteristics about each sub-band frequency , combining the speed-changing result with different speed sub-band, the result of experiment indicated that six-phase cycloconverter speed control system can realize smooth transition of dynamic control in the mode of double-variable control.
