Millimeter wave waveguide slot shaped beam array antenna is used abroad in radar and telemetry,because of such antenna with small size,light weight,compact structure,with radiation of high efficiency,power capacity,high reliability,etc. This paper has designed a millimeter wave waveguide slot antenna. Firstly, it introduces several types of pattern synthesis method, and shapes the sector beam by the Orchard method, by analyzing which of fundamental theory, the characteristic is achieved that the main and side lobe control and the distribution of array cells affect the pattern of the antenna. We get the ideal shaped result of sector beam: 12 array elements, the distance among which is 0.78 wave length, achieving a main lobe width of 20 degree and side lobe level of -30 dB. Seconding, according to this result, we choose the scheme of coupling feeding by the waveguide slot and shifting the phase by rectangular waveguide phase-shifter; Among the amplitude weighting procedure of feeding network, we have analyzed the impedance characteristic of inclined slot located at the center of broadside of waveguide, and we also accomplish the amplitude weighting procedure. In the global simulation procedure, the measured result of the feeding network is presented at the end of the dissertation which shows the feasibility of the design procedure. It shows that the max measured amplitude error is less than 10^-3, and the max measured phase error is 2 degree. Thirdly, in the procedure of feeding network design, we have analyzed the coupling network tolerance, and derived the rule that amplitude and phase tolerance affected the feeding network.At the end of this dissertation, we have developed the experimental research of feeding network, and got the real result of 2 digits after decimal about the max amplitude error, and 8.5 degree toward the max phase error. Analyzing from the measure ways, the measure results and the pattern, we find it inosculated with anticipated parameters that indicated our design is feasible.
