The CAD system for products design and CAPP system for process design areseparated for a long time. With the accelerating of manufacturing Information anddigital development, the application Module integration is necessary. Therefore, thispaper researches basic principles and key technologies parametric CAD/CAPPsystem and has developed a parametric CAD/CAPP system platform using CBR. TheMain points of this paper as follows:(1) This paper introduced the necessity for CAD system and CAPP systemintegration and development trends. Discussed the significance of the parametricCAD/CAPP system research with business needs.(2) With analysised the common integration method for CAD system and CAPPsystem, Selected the method of using engineering database to Integrat theCAD/CAPP system. Described the specific development methodology for engineeringdatabase.(3) Developed the CAD module using the principles of similarity,the principles ofreusable, the case-based reasoning,design knowledge base and parametrictechnology. Describes the key technologies for parametric CAD module Includingparts modeling technology, knowledge constraints technology and design formanufacturing technology.(4) Analysised the common methods of CAPP development. Designed variantCAPP system using the case-based reasoning technology, data-driven technologyand Process knowledge base technology.(5) Introduced a 3D generalized parametric CAD / CAPP system platform,tunnel-type double-column stacking machine CAD / CAPP system. Given a briefdescription of its work processes.
