With the need of social production and the development of detection technology, as a sort of detection equipment of nondestructive inspection, ground-penetrating radar(GPR) is widely used in many fields. In the paper, the application of ground-penetrating radar in the detection of concrete bridge will be investigated, and the Concrete Bridge Diseases Identification System will be designed.Aiming at the status quo that the explanation of canning images of ground-penetrating radar extremely depends on experience, the concrete bridge diseases identification system is investigated and developed in the paper. In order to research the characteristics of typical defects of concrete bridge, a great lot of experiments have been performed. According to radar signal processing technology and digital image processing theory including image enhancing and edge detection, firstly, image characteristics of typical defects has been richly analyzed and the thought of sample base is imported into the bridge diseases detection system. Secondly, a typical defect image base has been established. A technology difficulty that the reflecting character of the same defect interface possesses diversity has been successfully resolved, and the adaptability and extension of the identification system have been effectively enhanced. In the defect identification module, a method named principal component analysis has been employed to extract characteristics, and minimum distance classifier has been used to classify defects, through which, the precise degree can be guaranteed and favorable identification efficiency is acquired.The finestras and cracks in concrete and diseases of finestras containing water can be effectively identified by the system, and through it, the effect of detecting a modal girder in the laboratory is good. The perspective effect of detecting has been obtained by detecting a bridge (named JiJialing bridge). In the course of software design, in order to easily maintain and extend this system, the characteristics of oriented-object in C++language have been sufficiently used.
