Continuous-casting slab length on-line measurement and cutting is an important part in continuous casting process and the controlled precision direct influence productivity of slab. Traditional continuous-casting machine adopted measure length roller drive coder to measure length of slab(intitule mechanism measure length), because of this system depend on friction between measure roller and continuous-casting slab to drive, owing to influence factor as high temperature, slab distortion, the measure device often to be vindicated and lower control precision. To overcome the insufficiency of traditional cut-to-length system, the building process of untouched-mode slab length measurement and cutting control system was presented, based on the and the digital picture processing technique.In order to settle instability of MEISHAN No.1 Continuous Casting machine, Realize continuous casting slab auto incision system design based on image processing by syncretize image processing and slab incision system. In application not only applied basal theory of image processing technology, the method in order to identify the situation of continuous casting slab head adopt curve combine to flatting transact ash degree histogram and searching method to find out threshold value but also deal with the disturb, such as water vapor, sunshine and electric welding light etc. Count length of slab exactly and control slab cutting. Check slab after cutting adopt image processing, gain actual cut length, provide the slab length for computer. Slab cutting length compute model startup next plan of slab cutting. Further processing control compute model translate slab surface temperature into vidicon aperture data based on cast information. Control image processing system size of vidicon aperture. Image processing system adopt slab image in focus, brightness stabilization. The slab automatic cutting control method base on imagination processing technology is no need to change former continuous-casting machine. As this system has low cost, easy installing and adjustment, orientation accurately and running with former measure control system. Operator can compare and switch these two sets measure equipments. to improve reliability of slab cutting measure system. Now the slab cutting orientation control system base on imagination processing technology is running steadily, satisfy requirement of production, and accordant slab increase to 99% of plans.
