Three-dimensional(3D) reconstructed technology of bio-medical images has become one of the most striking and fastest-growing technologies on the bio-medical engineering in recent years. It deals with a series of slice images to identificate boundary and restore the detected objects in a three-dimensional images. Its purpose is to obtain qualitative and quantitative analysis and provide the three-dimensional structure informations for biological experts and doctors. Meanwhile, it is widely used in diagnostic, surgery planning and simulating, plastic and artificial limb surgery, radiotherapy planning, and teaching in anatomy. Study on 3D-reconstruction from bio-medical images has important significance on science and worthiness in practical application. This paper has analyzed the background and status, studied the comparison of some commonly used methods, introduced the visualization realization method in the 3D reconstruction technology. The paper discuss the primitive image intensification, edge examination , binary image, and implement coordination text of the binary image from the edge part. This article presents the research of a method of programming with VC and MATLAB based on the component object model(COM)-MATLAB functions call the image processing toolbox, and then VC calls its COM interface. It can implement the edge extractation of a group of images in a row and ensure a friendly user interface and performance. After obtaining these data, the paper implement the following functions programming with VC++ in UG NX on a secondary development way. On the one hand, simplify the data of every layer using an improved polygon approximation of contour lines in order to reduce data redundancy. On the other, implement patch display of simplified edge data on the shortest diagonnal algorithm within profile connection algorithms.
