With the development of rail transport, especially after the six speed-up of Chinese railways, CHR Train gains an increasing attention for railway. Because CHR Train runs faster than normal trains, the safety monitoring system becomes more important, and the requirements on it are getting higher and higher. CHR Train Driving Motor Temperature Surveillance System(DMTSS) is an important guarantee of the train safety.As a newly wireless technology, ZigBee has the characteristic of low distance, low complexity, low power, low data rate and low cost. Its target is to setting up a Ubiquitous Sensor Network. It provides great helpful for the realization of this system.A wireless sensor network was developed to the DMTSS in this paper. The primary contents of this paper are:1. Constructed the wirless sensor network of DMTSS based on the IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee network protocol. Achieved the communication between monitor computer and work stations in MESH topology network structure.2. Designed hardware of the wirless sensor network node of the DMTSS. By the core of MSP430 circuit diagram was given, and accessed debugging.3. Preparation of the wirless sensor network node software in DMTSS. Completed a ZigBee mesh network. In actual test, it proved that the network low cost, low power consumption, the performance was highly valued in terms of the reliability and compatibility.
