Research On Key Equipment Of BIW Robotic Welding Assembly Line

Welding is a very important process in Body-In-White manufacture. The level of Welding process technology and welding assembly line equipment technology are key factors to improve the quality and efficiency of vehicle manufacture.In the paper, robotic welding assembly line and the key equipment were analyzed, and BIW structures and welding technique were discussed. Robot end-effectors and body assembly jig are highlighted in the research. With a practical case study on the jig CAD on CATIA, a parameterized, modularized, and standardized design method and DMU simulation process are analyzed and implemented on CATIA, and a CAD catalog is setup on CATIA.
