A video conference is a set of interactive telecommunication technologies which allow two or more locations to interact via two-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously. Video conference system based IP can make the most of currently available resources, avoid from overlapping investment, lower the cost highest possibly and get the higher cost performance. Video Conference is now used by the government, hospital, school and enterprise more and more, and even is popular to people gradually.Video conference requires higher performance for bandwidth, delay and jitter. Although the ability of transmission in the modern Internet becomes better and better, Internet don't support any QoS for video conference and it is a bottleneck for the development and popularity of video conference. Video conference is a communication mode with multipoint to multipoint, which requires high bandwidth for every member in the conference, but the bandwidth in the Internet is limited. IP multicast is a good technology for the video conference. Therefore, with development of video conference, it becomes a research hotspot to design a QoS system architecture for video conference which is effective, and can run in the multicast network, and can distribute and manage network resources.This dissertation designs a QoS support system architecture for video conference, and designs its architecture, strategy and communication protocol. QoS support system architecture includes four functional modules: client terminal QoS proxy module, conference server QoS module, QoS server module and network control module. And QoS server is the core of this architecture, which can communicate with clients with SIP to collect the QoS information from clients and control them. Moreover, QoS server can call the function of network control module to get the network topology and analysis network bandwidth condition. According to this information, QoS server executes admission control for clients for distributing the resources effectively and adjusts the sending strategy of clients self-adaptingly.
