Abroad, especially in Europe, CAN bus technology has been very popular and matureand 80% of cars are used to varying degrees the technology. Currently, foreign automakers have continued to build their own mature CAN Network Development Platform and the major car companies have their own sophisticated application layer protocols. These protocols can be reduced based on different cars and functional configurations for different platforms. Domestic vehicle manufacturers recognize the fact and are gradually developing its own application layer protocol, such as Chery, BYD, Changan Automobile, etc., and gradually form their own vehicle network application layer protocol and related standards.CAN network architecture in domestic cars described in the paper is the independently developed research and development in an automobile factory for automobile network platform and it develop a relatively complete automotive CAN network application layer protocol and related standards. Dashboard is the vehicle information display centerand the platform for an important node in CAN network. All driver-related information and car safety information will be displayed in dashboard. In addition, as the platform for high speed and low speed CAN CAN gateway, it coordinate the two CAN network data sharing between network nodes. Based on the platform of CAN network architecture and Freescale 16-bit microcontroller MC9S12XHZ512 core, the automotive CAN bus dashboard is designed for meeting the specifications of the network platform, focused on the design of Automobile Instrument conventional hardware and software, and it introduce the design and realization of network management and CAN bus gateway for CAN network platform in detail .In the end ,it introduces the basic features of the dashboard test platform and vehicle CAN network testing platform and give a complete functional test and CAN networks test.The system has some features, such as digital information devices, vehicle CAN bus communication and information sharing all vehicles, vehicle unified control and based on the entire vehicle information fault diagnosis.It have a certain number of vehicles guiding significance on our self-developed domestic automobile networking and information-based instruments.
