Network control system (NCS) is a synthetic application which combines control science, computer science and network technology. Networked control systems (NCS) are widely applied in the modern industry control, which have advantages of less wires, good flexibility and share of information resources. However, some new issues such as network-induced time delay, network scheduling, multiple-packet transmission and dropping packets also appear. The competition of network resources and propagation delay raise a new scientific field where traditional control theories and methodology can be applied. Network scheduling, for instance, is a essential part of this novel domain. Based on existent results on control network performance and scheduling in protocol layer, the thesis analyzes the scheduling algorithm of networked control systems in application layer, and structures mufti-task networked control systems for scheduling simulation. In addition, this thesis explores technologies for integration of control and scheduling design. The influence of sampling period to NCS is discussed. Based on control performance optimization and network scheduling condition, considering system control and network scheduling, an optimized model and sampling period selection algorithm are proposed. The simulation results show that the algorithm satisfies performance requirement for NCS, optimizes network scheduling, and improves network efficiency.
