In modern life, embedded system is popular with its superiority of portable,intelligent and low power.More and more people use embedded devices in many fields and life become more and more convenience and happy.However, I found that,in the tourist areas, the popular guide machine is only remain in using MCU to play speech sounds, which is short of freedom and comprehensive access to information. Especially in the museum,which has a large number of collections, how to quickly find exhibits; If the exhibits lack of instructions, how to obtain more information about exhibits; Current voice guide machine can not solve these problems,so this paper proposes using embedded devices based on powerful database to achieve the guide machine design. With the updating of embedded debices'hardware, the demand of embedded database isincreasing, the mobile embedded database is also widely used in many fields, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the major mobile embedded database, transplants the open-source SALite database to embedded device. This paper base on the SCUT Radio Museum and the digtal museum project, complete the electronic collection, electronic humanities databases. The fast input and management methods ,given in this paper, improve the efficiency of database.Using SQL language to complete the function of quick query,modify and Chinese ranking in the digital museum. Using C++ language to improve the human-computer interaction platform, the guide machine is divided into administrator mode and visitor mode, so that it's easy to use. This paper also analyzes the S3C2440 platform, the WINCE6 BSP drive of camera, button and audio.Administrator mode can use camera to save exhibits pictures,use mic to record exhibits voice messages.Visitor mode can look on exhibits images and text stored in the SQLite database, use WINCE software to listen exhibits speech sounds and watch videos, in this way, visitors can understand the exhibits information more comprehensive.This paper also design a speaker circuit to let more people can listen. The guide machine has powerful function, informative, easy to use and management the database, so it will meet market demand and have good commercial value.This guide machine has been designed, proguam verificated, completed and improved in both hardware and software fields, achieves the expected target through the simulation use of the Radio Museum. Finally,this paper put forward a number of shortages and improvements of the guide machine, and analyze the future prospects.
