The Design And Implementation Of Web Based NETCONF Network Management System

In recent years, networks become more and more complex, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) can not met requirement of current network management for complex networks. The Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) was proposed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). It uses an Extensible Markup Language (XML) based data encoding for the configuration data as well as the protocol messages and provides mechanisms to install, manipulate, and delete the configuration of network devicesThe contents of NETCONF and a series of related protocols and drafts were analyzed and the web-based NETCONF prototype platform was built in this dissertation. Moreover, the process analysis, function design and realization of the prototype platform were described in this dissertation, including the Manager and Agent site of the network management. In addition, after researching on the NETCONF contents, two mechanisms for extending the protocol functions were proposed. One of these mechanisms was extendable subtree filtering mechanism, which enriched the method of XML filtering based on the subtree filtering mechanism. The other was module information acquisition mechanism, which extends schema information and provides more effective expression form.
