| The mobile communication technology is evolving from 2G to 3G Technology improvement results in increased competition among the mobile operators in the market. Customer self-service is an effective strategy for the operators to win in the competition. While it's not easy to maintain the businesses which keep rapidly changing, on the customer self-service platform for China Mobile, Yunnan, because of the technology variety on the platform.The spirit of this thesis is to study how to improve the abstraction and separates concerns of developing user interfaces follow the theory of multimodal user interface. In section 2.4.3.,a layered generic user interface model is constructed.This thesis takes China Mobile, Yunnan as a sample, explored the requirement for a mobile operator to build customer self-service system under competitive situation. And find out the key factor for an operator in such competition to win the competition, that's shift its way of building the multimodal interaction application to a new level of generic user interface construction paradigm.The thesis also researched basic technologies and the trends related with generic user interface development, which includes the MDA methodologies by OMG, the XML technologies by W3C as well as the edge of multimodal interaction researches are making progresses rapidly under the shield of W3C. Concerning these new technologies, to explore theory and engineering reality, a practical technology stack is explored and figured out for implementing the theory of applying Multimodal UI in the way of Generic User Interface.At the end of the thesis, the author shows a prototype which is developed based on the corresponding practical technology stack. The prototype completely carry out the application of layered generic user interface theory. Also it's the proof of concept utilizing current engineering condition to construct a layered generic user interface model from ground up. |
