The Research And Implementation Of Testing The Security Of SIP Protocol

Next Generation Network not only is a telecommunications network but also is an open system. For telecommunications networks, reliability and security is crucial, while the changes of the business model make the security in NGN more complex. Thus, NGN security issue is a topic that is worthy of researching deeply. SIP protocol as the ones of the key protocols, their security has a direct impact on the security of the entire telecommunications network. The main work in the paper is to research the security of SIP protocol in the next generation telecommunications network. what is more, for these specific security vulnerabilities, the correspongding test programs are provided in the paper, and then tested them in the soft switch system in the lab, summarized and analyzed the test results, proposed the specific test suggestion.The security of the SIP protocol is researched from three aspects, potensial safty risks, the capabilities of analysis and the robustness of the protocol. The purpose is to figure out the potensial safty problems, and then design the specific test drafts. According to the test drafts,536 test cases are worked out. What is more, a network test envirenment is established, the 536 test cases are loaded into the security testing tool, the device which can run SIP protocol is tested. The test results are collected, summarized and analyzed, and the potensial problems of the SIP protocol stack are found out, and the specific test suggestion is proposed.
