With the rapid development of WLAN technology, it finds increasingly wide applications in a variety of areas, such as national defense, scientific research, education and economics, etc. However, WLAN is also confronted with lots of obstacles blocking its marketing, among which security is one of the key problems, and how to test the implementation of WLAN security protocols is the focus of this paper.To solve this problem, we, borrowing the concepts from network protocol test engineering and considering the features of security protocols, present a new solution for security protocol test, and design a common security protocol test platform ,finally. The platform is capable of providing conformance and security testing of the software implementation of WLAN security protocols. Conformance testing is to evaluate whether the software implementation is in accordance with the specification of the security protocol, and guarantee the normal operation of the protocol. Security testing is to judge protocol security through checking whether the realized security protocol is able to resist various known attacks, typically, address spoofing, replay, man in the middle, and DDOS. Following the testing, the platform analyzes and evaluates the realized protocol according to testing results.After the description of general theories, the features of WLAN security protocols are analyzed, based on which, solutions to some related technical difficulties and overall design framework of the platform are presented. Finally, the testing of 802.11b is given as an instance.
