Because of its easy maintenance,high-bandwidth,low-cost advantages,EPON (Ethernet-based Passive Optical Network) technology has gradually become the future access network technology. The main development direction of EPON technology includes multi-service access, service QoS guarantee,network information security,protection switching,operation and maintenance management.As the market and business changes, the business of broadband networks will carry the traditional Internet business step by step to a multi-service bearer based direction. Therefore, QoS guarantees for business studies more seriously, the design of uplink queue management, performance statistics and P2P business recognition functions has played a positive significance for enhancing the QoS support capability.This paper focus on the implementation of EPON uplink queue management and other functions and the study on P2P business recognition technology research initiated. Thesis work includes the following sections:1.Analyze the structural features and application development trends of EPON and point out QoS for different service quality assurance functions are increasingly taken seriously with the development of business diversity.2.Analyze uplink queue management functional requirements, then design uplink queue management module, including the module functional structure and signal interface definition, and then encode using VHDL, finally conduct functional simulation testing and system debugging.3.Analyze performance statistics functional requirements, then design performance statistics module, including the module functional structure and signal interface definition, and then encode using VHDL, finally conduct functional simulation testing and system debugging.4.Study and analyze P2P packet inspection method, then establish MATLAB simulation model of P2P packet inspection, by a MATLAB simulation, at last achieve conclusions about relative design and implementation.
