As the progress of standardization of 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE), it has become the common technology of 3G evolution. On 11th December 2008,3GPP approved the functional freeze of LTE as part of Release 8. There is significant commitment from operators to deploy this technology, and this landmark achievement will allow them to realize their early deployment plans. Because TD-SCDMA commercial network has deployed in China, LTE may probably use the frequency band of TD-SCDMA. It is of the most importance to ensure the coexistence between LTE system and TD-SCDMA system. This paper focuses on LTE-TDD, which is mostly likely deployed in China, coexistences with TD-SCDMA, and analysis their performance loss, then give some suggestions that may guide the deployment of these two wireless communication systems.Because of the flexible timeslot configuration of LTE-TDD system, one configuration can be found which has the similar uplink and downlink ration. This will eliminate the interference of BS-to-BS and UE-to-UE. So this paper mainly analysis the BS-to-UE interference between these two systems. Adjacent channel interference power ratio (ACIR) model and interference model, which are the focuses of this paper, are modified to accommodate to the coexistence of TD-SCDMA and LTE-TDD systems. What's more, the Power Control technology, smart antenna and Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) are also adopted in this paper, so the results and the suggestions would be more practical. Capacity loss and throughput loss as the performance indicators are discussed in detail with three different system offsets. What's more, some useful conclusions on the coexistence of LTE-TDD and TDSCDMA systems are presented.
